On 26^th April 2012, we hosted two of Italy’s most influential product designers for the latest in our Peroni Collaborazioni Talks to help us celebrate the values and future of Italian design.

Italy is globally renowned for its ability to consistently create some of the most iconic pieces of design. Indeed, the country boasts a long list of well known designers who have become global names in their own right including Fabio Novembre, Alessi, Mendini and Piano. Their success has been built from a unique set of values and traditions that result in beautiful, stylish yet ultimately practical products.

The Peroni Collaborazioni Talks celebrate these values and traditions of craftsmanship, passion and attention to detail so often found in Italian culture and trends by bringing together the collaborative design duo Andrea Trimarchi and Simone Farresin. They shared their view on what lies ahead for the future for Italian design and its role in product design.

The evening offered a unique insight into the personal reflections and anecdotes from FormaFantasma focusing on their combined interest in Italian craftsmanship, whilst creating and encouraging audience discussion and debate around the importance of Italian design, its values and heritage.

The ‘Amici di Peroni’ dinners were a celebration of the uniquely Italian way of entertaining and socialising in style, where guests could exchange ideas and fun conversations over some good Italian food. In the same lines of that renaissance tradition of the ‘Salone’, like-minded diners gather under the roof of an inspiring host to amuse and enrich one another…

Peroni Nastro Azzurro has taken me all around the UK to be their host of such dinners, and it was great fun to be in different cities, meet new people and exchange notes. Everyone made new friends with everyone else at dinner and even managed to listen to my Italian Style tips. From Liverpool’s iconic Anglican Cathedral, to the breathtaking Old Farmers Market in Glasgow I am now enriched with British local styles too.

To conclude the fun ‘tour’ of Amici’s dinners, we landed on London’s very own Tower Bridge. That evening, the magnificent metal structures of the Capital’s landmark were all lit up in that Nastro Azzurro blue to celebrate it, and I could not believe my eyes when I saw the long dinner table, beautifully styled and laid out in one of the corridors at the very top of it: overlooking the city of London, it was the most amazing location ever! And for an Italian supper…

I was really pleased to see some of London’s most creative minds come for a unique experience, and to have fun. Between an artichoke risotto and a lamb cutlet, designer Stephen Jones was giving lessons of hat making to powerful manager Mimma Viglezio.

Over a rich tiramisu, personal trainer to the stars Johnny Lomax was trying to convince the elegant Style Director of Grazia Paula Reed to do a bit of jogging every morning. Every single girl fell in love with the charm of young, hot actor Oliver Jackson-Cohen, who seemed to have a Peroni in his hand all night…Film director Zeina Durra got into a long conversation with Business of Fashion’s Imran Ahmed over the power of the web. While Stephen Swarray, of Groombyswarray.com was enchanted by the beauty of model Sara Brajovic, and New York agent Jed Root talked art photography with gallerist Judith Greve and collector Saadi Soudavar, over the delicious gelato.

Anna Orsini from the British Fashion Council eventually met Haute Couture designer Nicholas Oakwell and talked fashion almost all night, and the bohemian illustrator Daisy de Villeneuve found there her old friends model Martin Ahearne, and DJ Jack Guinness. The best dressed of the night for me, was Motilo CEO Sofia Barattieri. I also loved the way The Last Tuesday Society’s Viktor Wynd had styled his beard for the occasion. Such a dandy!

Actress Pippa Bennett-Warner told blogger supremo Sasha Wilkins (of LibertyLondonGirl) about her recent stint performing as Queen Isabel in Shakespeare’s Richard II at the Donmar Warehouse while party organiser Serena Mattar kept entertaining everyone with her funny jokes.

Henry Conway was flirting with all the guests and won best smile of the night.

After the last guest left, I looked around the empty table and it made me smile. It had all the signs of a fun and memorable night: a magical walk across the Thames with views to die for, the delicious Italian menu, the stylish setting, a highly intelligent and entertaining company, some gorgeous girls, a few intriguing and scintillating young men, the amusing and amused lift attendant… and the best ever chilled beer. Peroni, naturalmente.

To celebrate the end of our series of unique and dazzling Italian dining events, Amici Di Peroni, we held a fantastic final event at one of London’s finest and most memorable landmarks - Tower Bridge.

Once again hosting the event was renowned fashion expert, Gianluca Longo, who immersed himself in the capital’s lauded fashion and art scene with the help of some of today’s most illustrious fashion designers, models and actors, to celebrate the glorious Italian style, good food and great company.

We had an fabulous evening at our Amici Di Peroni Glasgow event on 28th March, held at the city’s enchanting Old Fruitmarket.

Joining us was Style Editor Gianluca Longo who let us know what is was about some of the stylish atendees that got them invited to the table.

Rory Price: I really love his rocker hair, it’s a very fashionable touch to his arty look.
Monty, Gary, Christian, David & Iain: This is exactly how I would imagine Glaswegian cool to look. retro styles with achingly cool city twists.
Prerna Prabhakaran: I like the 50’s feel to Prerna’s look - the polka dot dress, denim jacket and flat shoes.Her 50’s makeup adds to a great individual style.

Liverpool Cathedral was the setting for our Fantastic Amici Di Peroni Liverpool event this Wednesday.

Along with some of Liverpool’s best-dressed, we were joined by Style Editor Gianluca Longo, who let us know his thoughts on the attendees’ attire for the evening.

Kirsty Doyle: A true fashion designer- I love the combination of her vintage skirt and sequinned jacket. The platform shoes make a great addition to her look.
Sarah Milner: An eccentric look, a real individual. She is styling the leopard print in a fun and stylish way. From the hat to the bag and boots. And her nails- a present from her daughter.
Rosie Tobin: I love the tomboy look, it’s really cool. She’s made it even cooler with those ankle boots- they show off her great legs!
Greg Davenport: This is proper urban street cool. He’s really giving Shoreditch a run for its money!
Rosaleen Gallagher: Cute, colourful styling. Really retro- definitely a winner!
John Paul O’Dea: A dapper look, with his double breasted jacket very well styled with his cream trousers. I love the elegant touch of the pocket square.
Paul Doran: The hottie of the night. Confident style with his stripey shirt and skinny cords.
Nadya Duke: She is just a designer’s dream! With the hot accessories of the season; her YSL shoes and Celine bag.. Liverpool’s got style!

We had an amazing evening at our Amici Di Peroni Manchester event last night, held at the city’s stunning Manchester Art Gallery.

Joining us was Style Editor Gianluca Longo who provided his opinions on some of the attendees and the stylish flair that got them invited to the table.

Alix Walker: A perfect dandy look with the tweed, love the addition of his sport shoes. Very cool- a classic with a twist.
Shaw Atkinson: A sleek, urban look. I love that he breaks the boredom of black with his mustard polo neck. And I love his hairstyle!
Shameema Komdar: A true fashion blogger, you can tell she loves her craft. I love her styling- eveningwear with a leather bomber jacket. And her Alexander Wang.. Very this season.
Ellis Michael: Very elegant and pretty in lace. Adore the delicate hairstyle which brings a romantic touch to a high fashion look.
Clare Potts: I love her 70’s English look. Stripes with the orange skirt, and her eye make-up. It makes for a very cool, very colourful look.
David Tester: He takes on country chic in a very urban way. A key look for next winter - Manchester is ahead of the trend!
